How do you say Merry Christmas in Hawaiian?
In Lāʻie, you come to the Hukilau Marketplace and join the party!
The people at Hukilau Marketplace look forward to the Christmas season. They love to see the shining faces of the keiki as they wander among the lights and decorations in wonder. (And we are all keiki at Christmas!) It is uplifting to watch joyful faces and happy hearts race from one attraction to another, trying to drink in all of the Christmas Spirit at once.
That is why they offer a week full of activities absolutely free to everyone who would like to attend our Hawaiian Christmas. December 16 – 21, there will be activities from 6:00 to 8:00 PM—every evening, including Wednesday.
What is there to do?
Hawaii in December might seem rather odd to people from colder climates, but the Marketplace does its best to bring the North Pole to the tropics. So many things to do!
- Enjoy the lights and decorations.
- Talk to Santa and take pictures him and Mrs. Claus.
- Ride the Christmas train.
- Keiki can participate in a scavenger hunt and get prizes for completing it.
- Listen to the live music—different artists every night.
- Perhaps be a lucky winner of a giveaway prize.
