Far more than a museum
One of the greatest strengths of the many Polynesian countries represented here at the Polynesian Cultural Center is their love and commitment to their families. It is evident in the activities and presentations throughout the Center, as well as a main theme in our beautiful evening show, Ha: The Breath of Life.
Each village offers activities that highlight their culture. Each village also offers cultural games and activities that are sure to be a favorite amongst the kids. For instance, in the Aotearoa Village, guests can practice Poi Ball Twirling, a game using two balls attached to cords swung in intricate patterns. Historically, these skills were used to build dexterity and quick thinking. There is also the Tititorea, or Stick Game. For this you will need at least one partner. Each player has two sticks. The object is to tap and toss the sticks to one another.
Every island has its own series of games and activities sure to delight our guests of all ages.
Our Hawaiian Journey Theater showcases a beautiful and exciting big screen journey over the magical Hawaiian Islands while weaving a story of it’s history told thru generations. Sure to be a big hit with our youth are the specialized seating towards the middle of the theater where the movie becomes truly interactive as the seats gently simulate movement as the viewer travels over mountain, down steep valleys and across the ocean waves. These seats also provide gusts of wind, sprays of mist and the sweet smell of our beautiful fauna. For those who prefer to keep on terra firma, standard, comfortable seating is also available.
The Tongan Village offers an opportunity to paddle your way across our impressive lagoon accompanied by an experienced and strong villager. Think you have what it takes to paddle like a warrior? Here is your chance to test those skills.
As part of the new Polynesian Cultural Center App, we developed 11 great sample itineraries to help our guests find the activities sure to make their visit to the villages perfectly suited for their interests. Below is the Family Friendly Adventure:
