The Polynesian Cultural Center is excited to return to the scheduled hours, activities, etc., available throughout the park this summer.

In order to make sure that you are truly prepared to have your vacation of a lifetime, we offer this blog which provides all the updates for this coming summer season, June – August, 2022.


Celebrate your 4th of July, the Laie way!  

The Hukilau Marketplace at the Polynesian Cultural Center is proud to host our annual 4th of July Concert and Fireworks Show this year!   

Bring your families and friends to join us for fun activities, live music, entertainment, food and more on Monday, July 4th from 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  

Don’t miss out on our festival activities—we have carnival games, face painting, balloon animals, inflatables and more! We also have a variety of food options for you.  

Top off your 4th of July night by watching our firework display from the Hukilau Marketplace parking lot, starting at 9:00 PM.  

Come and celebrate America’s 246th birthday with ALOHA, here at the Polynesian Cultural Center!

You are in the right place if you found the Hamana Kalili statue (known as the father of shaka) and the welcome sign to the Polynesian Cultural Center.

The Polynesian Cultural Center returns to their Monday – Saturday schedule June 29th – August 24th! 

Beginning June 29th, the Polynesian Cultural Center will include Wednesdays in their summer schedule. That being said, the Center will operate on a six-day week schedule. Our hours of operations still remain the same at this point. To check the update hours, visit our website,   

Along with our regular Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday schedule, the Center will be operating on the following nine Wednesdays during the Summer of 2022:

  • Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Because we will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2022, the Center will be open on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.

Hawaiian Journey, the Polynesian Cultural Center’s immersive cinematic experience, brings to life the story of Hawaiian people and their connection to their land and ancestors.

Get ready for the reopening of the Hawaii Journey Theater 

The Hawaiian Journey movie is being shown again at the Hawaiian Journey Theater. Daily showtimes are every half hour from 1:00 pm – 6:30 pm. With an exterior depicting a dormant volcano, Hawaiian Journey is a 12-minute experience, projected onto one of the largest screens in the state. The journey transports you into the gorgeous on-screen imagery of our beautiful island home as you experience crashing waves, mystic valleys and powerful eruptions showcasing the majesty of our islands.

Our award-winning Alii Luau Onipaa, recognized as the best in Hawaii, features a royal celebration of Queen Liliuokalani, delicious Hawaiian food, inspiring Hawaiian entertainment, and so much more!

Dine like royalty at the Aliʻi Luau featuring Onipaʻa  

If you haven’t visited the Aliʻi Luau, the island’s best at the Polynesian Cultural Center, you’re missing out. The Aliʻi Luau Onipaa features the celebration of Queen Liliuokalani, the last sovereign of Hawaii. Her story is told through her own words, lyrics and original compositions.   

Our venue has new flooring, layout, buffet setting, and an upgraded luau menu, featuring authentic Hawaiian dishes. You’ll also notice the color purple highlighted throughout the venue as it represents Her Majesty’s favorite color.

Our luau dinner is meticulously planned and presented by Executive Chef Felix Tai. It includes a wide selection of traditional Hawaiian dishes, popular island themed items and outstanding vegetarian options sure to please. Don’t forget to grab a free pina colada smoothie (non-alcoholic) and refill! And what’s a luau without a show? Our performers put on an amazing performance every night.

Executive Chef Felix Tai presents an equally impressive menu filled with new flavors and at the Gateway Buffet. The Gateway is the largest dining hall in Hawaiʻi, featuring a 360o mural depicting the Hawaiian Aliʻi (royal family) welcoming visitors from across the seas. You will be amazed by its Polynesian inspired architecture. The spacious buffet seating means you will not feel crowded, like typical all-you-can eat restaurants.   

As you enter the Gateway, you will be greeted with a delicious pina colada smoothie (non-alcoholic). And that is just the beginning! A new package available now at the Polynesian Cultural Center 

Our new package called “Islands of Polynesia & HA: Breath of Life package” is now available at the Center. This package takes you to the 6 Pacific islands including Samoa, Tonga, Hawaii, Fiji, Tahiti and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Each island village offers you an immersive cultural experience, hands-on activities, and more. It’s such a great place to mingle with the locals and natives!

Dinner is on your own in this package. We have a variety of food truck options at the Hukilau Marketplace to choose from. If you’re opting for a ‘sit-down’ dining experience, then Pounders Restaurant is where you want to go!

The second part of the package is to enjoy HA: Breath of Life show which depicts the engaging story of Mana and his beloved Lani through Polynesian dance, music and blazing fireknives. It will be a day you will remember for years to come!
